Is Dolby Vision 2 actually a breakthrough, or just the next marketing gimmick to sell 2026 TVs?

When I was buying a TV recently, I saw a lot of people discussing Dolby Vision 2. Many are worried that hardware limitations will prevent it from supporting DV2 because DV2 requires a new chip (like the MediaTek Pentonic 800). I'm curious about the advantages of DV2. How significant is its improvement?

On current OLED or Mini-LED panels, is this improvement truly perceptible? Or is it just a gimmick by manufacturers to entice users to upgrade their TVs? I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading to the QM8L with the latest, more expensive, and higher-end chip (MediaTek Pentonic 800) just for DV2? What do you all think?

Everyone seems worried about hardware limitations preventing DV2 support, as it requires a new chip (like the MediaTek Pentonic 800) to support it. I'm curious about the actual benefits of DV2. How significant are the improvements? Can't other, lower-end chips support it via OTA updates?

On current OLED or Mini-LED panels, is this improvement truly perceptible? Or is it just another marketing gimmick to force users to upgrade to a new TV? I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to upgrade to a TV with the latest, more expensive, and higher-end chip (MediaTek Pentonic 800) just for DV2. What are your thoughts?
