previously refused visit visa - need advice before reapplying.

I’m 20F from India and planning to reapply for a UK visitor visa after one previous refusal. I’d really appreciate advice on how to strengthen my second application.

I’ve been working for the past year with a Reliance company as a full-time freelancer while completing my undergraduate degree. My contract was renewed monthly because I was still a student, and I currently have leave until my graduation results come out next month, after which they plan to onboard me formally. I also earn through social media/content creation. I haven’t filed taxes yet but plan to once formal employment begins.

The purpose of my visit is to see my boyfriend, a British citizen. We’ve been in a long-distance relationship since 2023 after meeting online. He has visited me and my family in India twice, and we’ve also travelled together to Dubai and Thailand. I mainly want to visit to finally meet his family and friends.

In my first application, I declared him as a “friend” because I thought calling him my boyfriend might hurt my chances. I sponsored myself with around ₹2 lakh in savings, while his mother (whose house I’d stay at) was listed as my host. The refusal mentioned it was suspicious that his mother was hosting me despite never having met me.

For my second application, would it be better to:
honestly declare him as my boyfriend,
list him as both sponsor and host,
and explain I’ll be staying at his family home owned by his mother?

I’m worried the change from “friend” to “boyfriend” could look suspicious, but I also want this application to be completely truthful and stronger than the last one. Any advice would really help.
