Hi everyone!

My partner and I are planning a 7-day trip to Taiwan in 2 weeks. We fly in and out of Taipei and currently plan to spend 4 nights in Taipei and 2 nights somewhere in nature.

We travel only by public transport and are looking for a place that feels scenic, has hiking trails, and is not too stressful to reach.

I was originally considering Hualien/Taroko, but I read that quite a lot is still closed after the earthquake. Then I started looking into Alishan/Fenqihu, which looks beautiful, but I’m a bit worried it might involve too many buses/transfers for such a short trip.

Would places would you recommend? 😊
