I own a mk4 jetta tdi, which uses wheel bolts from factory and I am converting it to studs for my aftermarket wheels.

I bought a stud conversion kit which is m14x1.5 to m12x1.5, and bought the proper lug nuts, and tested to make sure they spin on.

I just had an issue where the threads in the lug nut absolutely disintegrated, but the thread on the stud conversion kit is completely fine, and I'm trying to figure out why this happened.

Only thing I could think of is there not being enough thread poking out of the wheel to get the lug nut on but I'm not sure,

Thoughts? I can post more pictures in the replies
