Rat Poop

Rat Poop

My sweet little guy (7.5lbs 4mos old) managed to eat a piece of rat poop. I was right there with him so I know he literally got ahold of one small pebble.

A few hours later, he started having diarrhea and also puked once. I called my vet immediately when I realized that he was sick and connected it back to the poop that he must have consumed at the park.

I am putting him on a special diet of boiled chicken and rice, but I’m very worried due to all of the things I’m reading online. My vet suggested a stool sample test in 1 month to check for parasites.

Has anyone had a similar experience? I ended up grabbing another piece of poop to stick in a bag in case that becomes helpful down the road (for testing etc).

Other than the diarrhea and puke, I feel like he is acting normal.
