What is causing my extruder screw to start clicking?
It seems like the screw on my extruder is clicking while printing. Isn’t it supposed to be a smooth screw extruding motion?

Hi everyone!
I'm a second-year EE student looking to hopefully get into the embedded/computer engineering industry and was wondering how to start making some real projects for both learning and to have something on my resume.
I recently bought a STM Nucleo F446RE and have no idea how to start. I heard that arduino/rasberry pi projects are kinda looked down upon since they aren't really considered real embedded work. I have experience building some projects using an ESP-32 (Arduino C++ only) and have taken classes in logic design/machine organization-assembly language so I know a bit about some low level stuff. What do you recommend I do to learn and what are some projects I can build using my STM? I would love to get some advice as I am completely lost.
Thanks!
Hi everyone!
I recently bought a brand new Bakon BK90 off Facebook Marketplace for $20. I’m a beginner and have no clue whether or not it’s good or not. I bought this to replace my cheap $5 soldering iron off AliExpress which does the job but not very well. I know that it’s probably a Chinese clone of a Weller, but I don’t got that kind of money to spend on a soldering iron. Is there anything I should look out for? Thanks for the feedback!
Hi everyone!
I am an incoming transfer for EE and was wondering if it was possible to find EE undergraduate research positions for the school year. I don't know how to start and would like to know if it's even possible. Is it even possible to email professors for research positions when I haven't even taken a class at UCSD yet. I don't mind if it's unpaid, I just want to try to have something lined up for the school year.
Thank you!
