I've had this microwave since 2011. Over the last few months I have had to slam the door to get it to lock into place. If I didn't slam it, I could simply open the door without having to press the release button. In that state, the microwave won't run even though the door is flush with the body. As of today, slamming the door won't cause it to lock, so the microwave can't be used in spite of every other feature working.
If you look in the photos, the lower receiver/hasp has some wear on it (image 1) and both hasps are canted inwards (image 2). Using a hex key, I have been able to verify that the triggers behind each hasp depress and function (the lower appears to disable the light and the upper appears to spin the disk).
How can I get the door to lock/function normally? I am willing to take it apart, but I'll need to buy some torx screwdrivers. Is it safe to do so?
