SUNY Binghamton vs University of Buffalo, which has a better presence outside of NY?

These two schools are my top two choices and I can’t seem to pick one over the other. I want to pursue mechanical engineering. I can’t find myself picking one or the other. Both cost around the same for me, UB being slight cheaper (because I’ll rent first year). So which one has a better presence outside of NY if one day I want to live somewhere else?

How hard is it to get from UB to NYC at least once a month?

I got admitted to UB and plan on doing engineering. I haven’t committed yet but it seems like my best option. However, the issue is I recently got my teeth done (I didn’t have the finances to do this earlier, and if I do it later than it would be harder for my teeth to move and for them to expand my palate) and my orthodontist wants me to come back every month for check ups for at least a year. Is it realistic for me to go to UB and be able to come back once a month?

I was also thinking of committing to Binghamton University as well and was between the two. With Binghamton I think it’s more doable. And engineering is ok there as well. Overall UB is cheaper though. 😭
