* Pretty
* Though proportions with the bigger coffee catch cup is better than the espresso catch cup (in the picture)
* I like the gloss black
* Build quality is noticeably inferior to Ode 2. It's lighter and the plastic knob doesn't feel as nice to turn. I feel slight play before it catches. I miss the clicks.
* Sounds worse vs Ode. It's not pleasant. And there's a scratchy sound when running empty. I don't know if it's meant to sound that way or QC issue. I'll ask Fellow support.
* Retention is excellent. With WDT RDT I'm getting back everything I put in. My hand automatically reaches for the knocker but there isn't one! Doesn't need it. No tapping needed either.
* It can make espresso! I am at setting 1 for 1:2 30sec Counter Culture Big Trouble. With milk tastes fine. Haven't done any straight espresso yet.
* Small catch cup fits Bambino portafilter perfectly. Grinds fast. Workflow miles better than the setup this is replacing: K6 + cordless drill
* Filter is fine. Sweetness forward but I am getting enough acidity with home-roasted Kenya. 6.5 was too coarse for a 15g V60
* No I haven't done side-by-side with Ode. I don't want to because I was meaning to sell Ode and a side-by-side might make me sad 😢
* Some popcorning when slow-feeding. Not whole beans but some pieces.
* Burr access is super easy, just twist the top section off. Too easy: I've unknowingly disabled the grinder by knocking the top out of position while putting the lid back on. I thought the grinder was broken! Twisting it back into position gives you a satisfying beep: good job human.
* Little brush magnets to the top tower- nice touch.
Happy with the purchase! But keeping an eye on my 14-day Best Buy return window.
