Revenge dark romance with cruel mmc who finds out fmc was hurt or mistreated by someone else
It could be her family, or just someone she knows from her past, but I want him to treat her horribly not knowing what she’s going through, and only find out after he’s basically pushed her to her breaking point or after he’s made a terrible mistake that somehow maybe puts her in the hands of whoever was hurting her. I would also like it to have some kind of dubcon or non con between the main characters in the beginning, but turn into something more consensual as the book goes on. Must have hea or hfn, but it doesn’t have to be in the first book.
Bonus points if there is a good grovel
I also love arranged/forced marriages, revenge, kidnapping, and anything that often goes along with that, including the forced pregnancy trope (that one might actually be my favorite, even though I know many people are not a fan anymore)
Please absolutely no poly or reverse harem or OW drama, those are just hard nos for me. And please no sports or high school romances.
Also would prefer it to be fantasy, sci-fi, or historical, but I will accept anything that is well written.
I tend to avoid mafia and billionaire romances also but I would be willing to give them a shot if they’re well done and not… over the top? I don’t know… some pull it off, but most I think aren’t for me.
