As someone who played wow religiously during my childhood Wow was always at my heart. I couldn't bear dealing with the bots and relentless systems blizzard would put into place on retail and looked towards pservers. After moving around a bit I found turtle and started my journey in 2022-2023 or somewhere around there. Boy did I not know what I was getting myself into. Turtle Wow is something that when I am on my deathbed - I will most likely think of and wishing my character was preserved as an NPC. Because it was World of Warcraft, it was the REAL....WORLD....of Warcraft.
But why? Because it's not about where you are, it's who you surround yourself with, and boy did I find the most amazing people. Below is a cumulative list that I'll probably be updating of people who I ran into on an adventure or two. I love you all and will cherish the last few days it is up more than my entire college experience.
When I started on Turtle Wow-I never would have imagined I would have made a whole 2nd life involved with so many people. When I first downloaded the game I was still in college finishing up my bachelor’s degree. I am currently employed with both a bachelor's and a master’s. I have seen relationships both in game and IRL stem from this server. I have had my heart racing with anticipation and cried over frustration. And all along the way I met some amazing and fantastic people. Below is a list of over 50+ players or groups I interacted with and have been made better as a result of meeting them and were unbelievably influential to me. They were also active every day for years. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much for being a part of this chapter of my life.

You were an amazing person to randomly strike a conversation up one day about class stuff. Your white shepard tmog game was always on point and I loved seeing how you did each week in the meters and on logs. You even gave me a cordial invite to your guild despite being on the opposite side of the world and that meant more than anything to me to feel as though I was wanted.

I have no idea who the three of you truly are and although it has been some time, you three made me have one of the most unforgettable RP experiences ever with the GM’s turning us into creatures and having a mission of bringing as many players to winter veil to “spread the curse.” Not to mention where one of you were-the others were also. I could tell from your demeanor, gear, and skills from a single ZG that I wanted to be like you. Always kind, always helping, always leading and always cool. You were super amazing to learn from and helped me become comfortable in twow with the way my class functioned. I appreciate all your support from the beginning. I probably would of quit being annoyed with how my rotation and spells worked together

You are one the most open people to helping a random person you just met-that i’ve stumbled across in game. Have a class issue? You knew who to talk to. Had an addon/discord issue? You solved them. Had a guild question? Could get an answer from the council or appropriate person within minutes usually. Your skills of assistance to others is beyond admirable and I’m lowkey jealous I don’t have your temperament and kind heart.

Your “Have fun” attitude is something I will look back on extremely fondly. I wish our directions would still have us playing together but I wish you the best in your future!

An absolutely stellar healer who always wants everyone to feel wanted, included, important, and loved. Arguably should have been like a GM in my opinion with how open you were to making everyone happy. I don’t know how you slept sometimes xD.

You guys were my first shot at a “Roleplay Guild” and I’m so thankful I picked you guys. I was originally a “whitemane cosplayer” and you guys assisted me with my mog as well as made me feel comfortable stepping into a scene I would never have gotten into personally. Even when I was running around spying on you guys because I was too nervous, you guys always invited me to come join or just hang. If I had a better attention span I probably would have dove in a lot deeper with you guys haha.

Best rogue player that was on the server for a time - no doubt. With logs to back it up you were a crazy cracked player. It took me a minute when you changed your name because I was confused who was on my friends list haha. But I fondly look back on talking about life and tons of things we discussed about gameplay, improvements to raiding, and so much more even though I was bad as a rogue. I don’t know what happened or where you went a few months ago because I hadn’t seen you log on for a while but I hope wherever you went (if it was with mortality) that your pillow is always cool and you always feel rested. <3

WHERE DO I BEGIN?!?! You are pleasant to be around. Insane in pvp. A dope dps/tank in pve. Always parked outside the Stormwind Fountain. Always whispering me if I don’t whisper you first. Always sharing real life stories and updates. Always asking me how I’m doing. Always someone I’m drawn to because you have the best vibe I ever could possibly find. I would spend a week straight doing random junk with you and never get bored. I have so many screenshots I’ll never delete like your climb to rank 14, your faction title, your dead body floating in lava in MC, and more. You are one of the first people who came to my mind when the closure announcement started. I hope your real life work pans out because I know you’ve been putting the work in. I’ll always keep you in my mind and heart because besides being the same age almost, you always say stuff I can relate to you or feel empathic towards. Although twow may be ending, please don’t disappear. Even if it just a “hey, how’s it going?” from now and again. No “goodbye”s please, just maybe a “See you later!” IN ANOTHER LIFE WE'RE FAMILY ;-; I feel the tears already...

Had I not been in your discord one night where you were discussing ZG jump runs, I would never have gottne a crab mount, my bronze drake, a full stack of flasks of supreme power, all the mechano spider tank mounts, the wildhammer gryphon mounts, and enough money that I was saving to help people run with me through naxx to work on an Atiesh. You literally gave me a light at the end of the mines. (Cause those lasher ones were pretty dark). My Personal Best for a jump run was 4:17 (recorded) meaning I almost could hit all 5 lockouts in about 25 minutes. I never would have thought I would be competitive at just farming gold but you made me realize an area of wow I have NEVER been exposed to. Not in retail, not on any other pserver, nowhere. Thanks for helping me find a new way to enjoy the game.

Even though I did not believe myself good enough and stood in my own way, you offered me a tryout for the mortality speedrun team and I should have accepted.
