Hi everyone, I’m based in Beijing and I’d like to hear some realistic advice.
I’m an Asian guy in my late 20s, and I’m hoping to find a serious long-term partner from another country. I’m more drawn to international / cross-cultural relationships, especially with people who are open-minded, emotionally steady, and interested in building a real life together rather than just something casual.
A bit about me: I’m thoughtful, a little quiet at first, and I care a lot about depth, loyalty, and shared daily life. I’m not looking for hookups. I’d rather build something genuine and stable.
My question is: in Beijing, what are the most realistic ways to meet someone from a different cultural or ethnic background who is also looking for a real relationship?
Are dating apps the main way, or are there better environments for this, like language exchange groups, international communities, hobby groups, bars, events, etc.?
I’d also be curious to hear from people who have actually built international relationships in Beijing:
- where did you meet?
- what worked and what didn’t?
- are there any common mistakes I should avoid?
I’d really appreciate practical advice rather than just “wait and see.” Thanks.
