I rarely see good assassins in trios and is a bit of a red flag with rando's
in my experience a lot of new people "main" assassin, basically the rook for free kit solos, perfect for the job where everyone is already ratting. Most people who run assassins do a lot of solos and i think bring the shell into trios thinking it works the same when it just dosent. in trios its a bit different, with so many sweat try hard teams, your invisibility is going to almost make zero difference in fights unless your highly coordinated and have perfect comms. your utility smoke is garbage if your team dosent know how to use it (most dont). I think a lot of people like his indivisibility so they dont get picked off first in team fights giving the illusion they are good at fighting or carrying their own weight.
Assassins should get a head start on unsuspecting victims to put a hurting on someone and rotate out giving you an advantage and i never see teams do that effectively or use the smoke (quickly without being told too) to reset from bad engagement, even use it offensively with thief / recon / thermals.
I can also 100% guarantee they will be the biggest loot goblin you have ever seen, using stealth to get a head start on the (good) crates leaving the team to finish the adds first, "I dont mind sharing as long as i get the good stuff" & he will probably be the worst at pvp, contribute the least all while screaming at his team at the same time. If you see a assassin on your team you can already expect he is going to be a selfish person, there are just so many other shells with better benefits.
If i bring someone new, id rather it be a triage or a recon, not just for utility, but it kind of speaks out about them as a individual that they are interested in the "team" and not just themselves. this said, i have seen some really good players do assassin and everything i said is not always so deep, but I think after people reach a certain amount of skill or time played most move on to other shells, unless your in solos and i understand that completely. This isnt a hate post, just a observation. have a blessed day.
