Review - MaH Travel Laptop Backpack (15.6 inches) after 4 years

I rarely see reviews for this brand (it seems to be more popular in China and the Philippines) but I bought this bag 4 years ago on Amazon and wanted to review it after using it pretty regularly and taking it on a few international trips.

Original price for this bag was around $50 but I got it for free as I had a bunch of gift cards and wanted to get something cute for myself. I mainly pulled the trigger as I really liked all the bag designs the company has and it looks very stylish. Yes… the gray coloring makes dirt and scuff marks more visible, I was sick and tired of always wearing black backpacks so I wanted a change.

The good - the quality itself is great. 100% polyester and feels super airy and light, good shoulder padding, etc. The interior has a few pockets, a place to separate/store your laptop, a keychain holder. There are two pockets on the exterior sides, but I always store my water bottle on the inside as I have a 32oz and the pockets outside are quite small. There is a center zipper pocket and a back zipper pocket as well. It’s water resistant and holds its shape quite well after 4 years. The bag also has additional buttons and a top zipper if you want more protection for your items.

The bad - the one major complaint I have with this bag is the button clasp on the front to close it. If you fill the bag up to the top with items even if they’re light), it becomes impossible to close the button. Or if you really try to force close it, it’ll often just pop open when walking around (sometimes the button pops open even if there’s not that many items). I’ve often thought that it was possible to fit more items in the bag than it really is. I like the bag enough that sometimes I just walk around with the top open, but that then can become a safety issue in public spaces, and just looks a little silly.

Overall, besides that flaw I really dig the bag. I’d recommend it for students and professionals alike who need something for a general purpose/school/work use, but not much besides that.

About a month or two ago I fell down the planner rabbit hole and spent hours looking at the perfect most aesthetically pleasing planner. I was about to pull the plug on a happy planner or something with a beautiful cover and tons of stickers and such but a few folks recommended the planner pad (especially for my adhd brain) and when I first looked at it I thought it was ugly as hell (and I am an extremely visual person who works in a creative field, so visuals are important to me) 😂 I would have never bought it if I wasn’t intrigued by the funnel down system they had. So I ended up getting one of those instead of something super decked out in aesthetics…. And I think I ended up making the right decision.

The boring design made me focus on not caring about the looks and just writing daily to-dos/weekly brain dumps/crossing out stuff I’ve done. After a month id say I’m in much better shape in terms of getting my life together than before. So thank you for the recommendations guys! Function over form etc etc..

I thought I’d share my progress as I just started Strattera (25mg) for inattentive ADHD. Previously I had been on Ritalin for a few years and before that Adderall (Adderall was 5-10 mg and Ritalin was 10-20 mg - my doctor had it so that I had a base dose, but could take a little more as needed). I decided to switch out of stimulants and try a non stimulant medication because I was not a fan of how dependent I became on Ritalin or Adderall and the mood changes stimulants brought. Even though they helped me greatly, I wanted to see if a non stimulant would work better.

Currently on day 4 of Strattera and so far so good - I’m not experiencing any nausea or tiredness that others seem to get. No headaches either and one of the things I first noticed was that Strattera gave me a little bit of a morning “kick” (I felt more awake) without my heart racing like it does while it’s on Ritalin. My appetite has not changed, but I do notice when I’m off stimulants I get voraciously hungry. Overall the effects do seem less intense than Ritalin but I think that could be a great thing and lower my overall anxiety. Will update in a few weeks as I see how it affects my day to day like time management or executive function tasks!
