Hi, gusto ko lang mag-rant about how frustrating it is to apply for college scholarships. Nakakainis lang kasi most of the time, priority nila is mga stem-related programs. Paano naman kaming nasa social sciences, arts, and other non-stem fields? It honestly feels unfair, this is exactly why “practical over passion” becomes the norm. Take me for example—i’m planning to take ba sociology at uplb, and i live far north of metro manila. Sobrang layo ko sa lb, so i was really hoping that a scholarship could at least help me cover dorm and other expenses. Pero guess what? Hindi kasama sa priority nila yung course ko and now I’m stuck in a situation where I have to choose. Should I pursue my dream course, or give it up na lang and shift to a program na pasok sa scholarship? Is it worth it ba guys? Ahahahaha, nakakapanghinayang talaga sobra, lalo na’t dream program and dream university ko ‘yun. It’s not just a dream, it’s something I’ve been wanting for a long time. Pero ang hirap kasi we’re not that financially well-off, and i badly need that scholarship just to make it possible.
