I swear, without context, my search history looks so sketchy. I mean, I can't be the only one who, when doing research or trying to describe something, ends up searching things that your FBI agent would find concerning.
I went from searching dog breeds to searching dog meat dishes, because my character, Melody, who is currently in captivity, is forced to watch her dog die, then gets force-fed its remains, only being told she ate her dog after it's all consumed. It's messed up, I know, that's the point. Then I went on searching, and I quote, "horse stable labeled" and "what do you call the chains that are connected to the wall in jail". I don't mean to sound creepy af asking "How many times a day would Melody soil herself?" but I have to know to make it realistic about her experience in captivity.
Trauma builds character, right? Guess Melody and my FBI agent are gonna have a LOT of character by the time I finish this book.
