Are dexpanthenol sprays safe to use on large open wounds? A stray near my family’s home was likely skinned recently, and about half of her body is currently an open wound. I am headed over there ASAP and will be taking her to a vet once I’m there, but is the amount of pain (if any?) worth attempting to spray the area? Photos on my account if you guys think they might help you give your best guess. Thank you so much!

Absolutely gutted at this but trying to stay coherent - my sister saw this cat in front of their apartment. She is a minor and we live 200 miles apart, but I will be making the trip tomorrow to try and take this kitty to the vet. The cat WILL be taken to the vet, tomorrow at the very latest, so please don’t have that be your only suggestion.

She found a Dexpanthenol spray previously used on our dog - should I tell her to try and get close to her and spray some on the wound or would that just cause more hurt? Reiterating that this is NOT me trying to look for an alternative for a vet. I have no idea what happened to her, but my dad thinks she’s been caught under a car’s tire while she was sleeping on it.
