Update on Colton's health - seeking assistance as his life-saving treatment continues

Sharing a quick update on Colton.

It's been four days since Colton started being trial treated for FIP due to unexplained weight loss, inappetence, lethargy, and fever. Two days ago, we had to rush him back to the clinic for admission because he was just getting worse.

Unfortunately his health took a further dip today. He's on assisted feeding and oxygen support, as his lungs aren't in great shape and he started open mouth breathing. He seems to be on the brink of a pneumonia relapse. His lymph nodes underneath his jaw are also extremely swollen and enlarged.

He is going to be transferred to a different hospital tomorrow as the clinic he's currently staying at will be closed for the next few days. Unfortunately he's way too far from stable to continue treatment at home, and so his current vet team advises it's best to continue hospitalization at a different facility.

Our fingers are crossed that better days await him, and we really hope you can keep him in your thoughts. He needs it now more than ever. ☹️

Donations for Colton's care remain welcome and would be so immensely appreciated. We have a ~$280 bill to settle tomorrow, and would need to make another down payment at the new hospital where he'll be transferred. We will make sure to share updates along the way.

help us support winston’s end-of-life care — memphis, tn

Hello everyone. As you may know, our senior cat, Winston, was diagnosed with squamous cell sarcoma, which is an aggressive form of cancer, on March 12.

On Friday, we met with an oral surgeon, who informed us that if Winston were to have surgery alone, his prognosis would be 40 days post-surgery. If we were to do that, he’d be spending the rest of his little life recovering from an extremely invasive surgery.

This is completely devastating, and definitively means that there is no feasible way to cure his cancer. Gold-standard care, which would include surgery, chemo, and radiation, could give him up to a year, but there’s no guarantee that it’d be a comfortable year. It would also cost $15,000 minimum just to start.

The only other option on the oncology path would be palliative radiation, which could give him another 4-6 months, but again, not guaranteed to be comfortable, and he would have to go under anesthesia each time. We want to look at this from his perspective, and we don’t see any way that radiation would be something he would want.

This leaves us with the kindest option, which would be to continue medical palliative care for as long as we can keep him comfortable. This includes medications, holistic care, a PEG tube (feeding tube that goes directly into the stomach), and lots and lots of love.

This is our worst nightmare, and I truly don’t know what I am going to do without him. He is my soul cat, my universe, my reason to keep going. He hasn’t even been in our life for two years, and it feels like some kind of cruel punishment to have him ripped from us so soon. We always joked that he’d live forever.

Continuing his palliative care will be expensive, and his feeding tube placement will be around $1200, which we have, all thanks to you guys. Once the tube is placed, his medications, food and fluids will all be able to be done through the tube, which will be so much better and more comfortable for him.

We have plans to do home euthanasia when it is time, and quite elaborate plans for him post-death. Although a controversial decision, we hope to have him taxidermied, specifically soft-mounted. This sounds elaborate, or even morbid to some, but I truly cannot imagine not being able to see him or pet him ever again.

For now, we are giving him everything that he wants, bringing him everywhere with us, and doing every single thing for him that we possibly can. You all have helped us give him the greatest gift, which is a comfortable and happy end-of-life filled to the top with love.

We have friends coming to visit him soon, we are considering bringing him to the beach (despite being 7 hours from the closest beach), and we’re trying to think of other things to do with him before he goes. Please give us lots of ideas :,)

We need your help to continue his palliative care, as well as support his postmortem care. We are likely about to start him on 2 more medications to slow down the growth and reduce pain. His medication regimen is veryyy comfort based and we pay extra for injectable or transdermal versions of his meds so that we don’t have to touch his mouth.

🐱Bobbles Backstory

Bobbles was found in the zoo parking lot under a car. someone reached out too me to help him so of course I immediately went and got him! I am unsure if he has head trauma or CH but im leaning towards head trauma due to his injury. He needed FHO surgery due to his femoral head being broken off. Im unsure if he fell out of a car while it was driving or if he was actually hit by a car :( he’s the sweetest baby ever.

I owe around $500 on his bill at Animal Medical Center for the surgery and I’ll need to see how much it will cost for some physical therapy but until then, I need to try and pay off the rest of his bill since we owe ALOT on the entire bill as it is.

If you would like to donate towards it, Donations can be called into the clinic, or paypal / venmo / cash app are the other options.

Help for my rescue Bigboy diagnosed with chronic Upper Respiratory Infection. (Philippines)

Hello to everyone I would like to ask for help to bring one of my rescue Bigboy to the vet due to his Chronic Upper Respiratory Infection. He has been dealing with this awful ailment since December 2025 and we have brought him twice to the vet but it keeps returning. I posted him before and while we didn't get any donations I was able to buy antibiotics and vitamins for him. But since yesterday afternoon he has been getting worse his breathing has been fast and shallow and his nasal mucus has clearly been obstructing his breathing and he has also started coughing due to it. The vet has advised us to get him CBC and Viral test to determine the cause of infection. Any help is welcome and appreciated and will go towards Bigboy's checkup and medication. Please pray for him I don't want to lose him since I already lost her sister last January. 🙏

Upvotes and Boost are appreciated for visibility. ❤️

Food target completed ❤️ Thank you 🙏 Now we need your support for this month’s medicines & daily chicken Kitten season is here rescues every day 💔 Your support means everything 🙏

We are truly grateful our cat food target has been completed ❤️ Now, we humbly ask for your kind support for this month’s medicine stock and the daily chicken expenses. The cost of chicken every day is heavy, and it remains our biggest ongoing need.

Kitten season is here, and we are rescuing vulnerable babies every single day. Right now, food and basic care are our top priorities.

Your support means the world to our babies 🐾

Thank you so much to every kind and generous donor who continues to stand with us. We couldn’t do this without you.

Mistletoe update... and a bit of irony! (Michigan)

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share an update on Mistletoe.

He’s home now, which is the best part. Yesterday was a bit of a rollercoaster... at first, X-rays didn’t show anything, but they eventually found a pocket of infection. He’s now on antibiotics, and we’re really hoping this gets him back on track.

Ironically, I ended up at the hospital myself yesterday for a few hours dealing with a tooth infection that my antibiotics weren’t clearing up either… so it’s been a bit of a week on all fronts.

As for his vet visit, the total ended up being just under $1300. We’ve already been able to pay part of that down, and we did receive one $100 donation, which we’re incredibly grateful for.

We still have $250 in matching support available, which can go a long way toward helping us finish covering his care.

Thank you to everyone who’s been following along and supporting him — it really means a lot, especially right now. I’ll keep sharing updates as he continues to recover.

Donation links will be in the comments so the post is not flagged as spam because reddit has been doing that lately for us.

ISO community fosters or resources Maryland

Looking for advice, resources, or even temporary community fosters in Maryland. I am currently experiencing some housing instability and am looking into potential options for my five sweet babies. While it is breaking my heart to consider being apart from them (temporarily or permanently), I realize perhaps the kindest thing I can do for them is find them somewhere safe where there is no risk of lapse in their care regardless of what direction my situation takes. They are all so incredibly sweet, good with kids and dogs, and have had no behavioral issues for me. I love them all dearly and hope that there are options where I can be reunited with them once I am in a more stable spot. When I looked on BARCS website (a shelter near me), there was a link for community fosters that no longer works - if anyone is aware of programs or has working links, I would be so grateful. Any recommendations or ideas would be greatly, greatly appreciated. 💕

♡What you all do for the floofaloofs changes lives for the better♡

https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2DXEWZYF17BA8?ref\_=wl\_share

Because of your guys and gals help, I was able help a few with the following..

Disabled elderly vet with a cat and three 4 month old kittens he has- wet and dry food bag for kittens, some poofball and mousie toys, a bag of dry food for mom and a box of wet food for mom.  The kittens will be getting fixed in the next two weeks.

Kim with a couple dry bags of food and some canned food for her colony.

My neighbor who's husband just had hernia surgery and she had to take off a week of work to help him, she took in 3 kittens who are now 8 months old, with a bag of dry kitten food, a bag of dry food purina, and a case of friskies canned food, and some canned kitten food, and some mousies.  I also am helping her get the 3 of them fixed they have an appointment on April 30th at spay society.

I have been helping Kim with her colony and trying to get those who want to be inside, inside.  I also have told her I am not prepared to take in any found kittens next due to the generosity of this group.  Thank you for the KMR, kitten food, and incubator!  It will make a world of difference, and some kitten food went to help others♡

My house itself is "House of Floofaloof."  It has been developed over time as a place for rescued cats and to foster anyone who comes in and needs to be socialized.  Things on my list reflect what will help me with this.  I have been developing the backyard and garage for those who want to be outside colony cats (working on TNR of course), and have taken in and vetted all who want inside.  Cats are our passion, and rescuing and helping them has been something that has been done since I was a child.  I don't go out to eat, I don't buy name brand, I do not have subscriptions for tv or such.  Anything that comes in extra, is for the cats and animals.  It is what we were meant to do in life, and you helping me has made a world of difference.  I know you all work so hard for your money, and the fact you choose to use it here, on us who post, to help the floofaloofs, brings me to tears.  You are the good in this world that society overlooks, but know it means more to us here than you will ever know.  Thank you for caring and loving those in this world that need us the most and are most innocent.

♡Thank you for all you do for the Floofaloofs.♡

Potpot's siblings and furry friends (my other rescues)

I wanted to share a little update on our household. While Potpot has been keeping us busy with his specific medical needs and medication schedule, taking those moments to focus on his care has actually made me appreciate the rest of the crew even more.

Since things have been so focused on health lately, I thought it would be a perfect time to share some of the positive energy from his many siblings and furry friends!

Having such a big feline family means there is never a dull moment. Here are some of them.
