AITA . What applies to a DESI wedding will help me

AITA? I am one of three siblings. One sister and I have two children each. There will be no grandchildren. My partner's son who lives in Maryland is getting married. My sisters live in Ohio. With one exception (Massachusetts) my partner's family live in California, as do my partner and myself. As far as I know none of my partner's family has met any member of the bride's family.

My partner claims it would be "awkward" for my sisters to attend because no one would know them; and There will be better opportunities for all the involved parties to meet at a later date.

Do my partner's objections make any sense?
