It’s a Fuente Friday for me!

Don Carlos Personal reserve
The wrapper is very thin. Lots of chocolate on the cold draw. It really hits you hard. Draw is perfect. First puffs are creamy, soft and pillowy. Sweet tobacco is strongest, some pepper and baking spices come through on the retro.

About an inch in I get some citrus zing, some grassy notes, and some charred oak.
Then I get hints of lemon yoghurt. Really interesting. Burn is ok.

Towards the beginning of the second third. I start needing to do some work to keep it lit. It’s been at 65 for a few months. I hope this doesn’t continue because the flavors have been great.

Combustion picks back up, I take the bands off and it wreaks the wrapper. Flavors are still solid, but not as delightful and nuanced as earlier. The entire second half of the cigar is mostly fine. It was so good in the first 3rd, I’ll probably pick up a few more of these to experiment with dry boxing to see if they need to be even dryer. Some of the interesting flavors do pop in occasionally, but it’s fleeting.
