Just bought this brick ranch from the 70s. I’m completely redoing the inside, and I’m looking for ideas to brighten and refresh the exterior as well. I’m zone 7a if anyone adds landscaping ideas. Thanks in advance!

Looking for landscaping help. I just bought this brick ranch from an auction and all of my brain power is going into the interior. The yard has a lot of potential but has clearly been neglected for some time.
I’m in zone 7a. I’m pretty attentive to the yard and I love to garden so it doesn’t need to be hassle-free. I am also hoping the garden improves the curb appeal a bit here and makes it look a little less dated. Bonus if any of it is edible or herbs but I will also have a veggie garden in the back. It’s partial sun. No limits on the garden.
