Hi,

I am a beginner to espresso, and I received the Gevi GECME418E-U espresso machine and GECGI406B-U7 coffee grinder as a gift. However, I was quick to notice that it doesn't brew a traditional espresso shot (1:2 weight ratio of grounds:shot), but instead is designed to brew at about a 1:5 ratio.

It turns out that I'm not the first person to notice this, and I found an Amazon review detailing the same situation (https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R207FTNJVCT3CS?ref\_=cm\_sw\_r\_apann\_dprv\_9VTH3FVW908R15NEDDW1&language=en-US)

It does make pretty good coffee, don't get me wrong, but I'm a bit curious: how can it be called an “espresso” machine if it doesn't brew a true cup of espresso? I’m still intending to keep it, but I feel like I was deceived a bit. Also, is there a way that I can avoid making the same mistake if I wanted to upgrade to a machine that can make a true espresso (normale) shot in the future?

I asked the AIs about this, but I couldn't find any hard sources to verify that their output wasn't hallucinated, and they weren't really able to provide much in the way of sources themselves.

Any responses from those more knowledgeable and experienced than me are appreciated! I'm always excited to learn (and brew!) more! Thanks!
