A bit of context:So I(16 F) and a friend of mine(We will call her L 16F) are both a part of a D&D club at our school. It has about 5 people and we're all kind of friends but do not really interact outside of usual club activities. Also im autistic,so it might impact my point of view a bit.
(English is not my first language btw)
Now to the actual story. We were in the middle of our session, when one of the guys(lets call him asked about why L wasn't there at the last sessions. Now L had been at a mental hospital for a few weeks and was just recently let go. She had also asked me not to tell anyone,so I didn't until today.
The thing is that just 3 hours ago L was talking about the situation with some of her other friends and I assumed that it would be fine to explain it now. Especially since B was genuinely concerned. So I said that she was in a mental hospital(without explaining the reason, because you know….privacy).
In an instant L had freaked out, telling me to go and talk to her outside the club room(which we did.) I was yelled at for “not minding my business” even though we were supposed to be best friends and she did the exact same thing just today.
I explained how this is honestly not that big of a deal and literally nobody cares if she were in a hospital or not.
L left afterwards to probably go home and I just kinda returned back to the session, which was kinda awkward after that ngl.
The next day(me and L usually meet in the morning), I got a message from L telling me that what I did was disrespectful but she's not angry and just needs some space.
I feel like L is overreacting about the entire thing but idk really.
So AITA for telling our D&D group that my friend was in a mental hospital?
