These are all over the wall of my extended stay in Vegas. They are not alive and have a hard plastic consistency. They don’t have any eyes, legs or visible body parts.
What are they? A worm? Some creature’s feces?

I found this figurine mounted to the ceiling of my Air Bnb in California.
What is the purpose of this figurine? Does this mean the hosts are not fond of me? I’ve tried so hard to be respectful. I’m insecure about asking them and don’t want to seem rude.
If this figurine is not Chinese, is anyone familiar with its origin?
