Can I connect two keyboards to one PC but have Windows see only one keyboard?
I’m trying to connect two physical keyboards to my PC, but I want Windows to see only one keyboard device. I tried a USB splitter (y splitter), but that did not work. From what I understand, a normal USB hub or USB switch may still expose the keyboards separately, or cause disconnect/reconnect events when switching.
What I’m looking for is some kind of device that can take two keyboard inputs and present them to the PC as one stable USB HID keyboard. I think this might be called HID emulation, keyboard/mouse emulation, a keyboard merger, or a USB HID proxy.
I do not need the keyboards to work as separate inputs. I just want the PC to receive keyboard input while ideally only recognizing one keyboard-like device.
Is there an affordable device that can do this? Would a KVM with keyboard/mouse emulation work, or would I need something more specific?
