We are expecting a boy shortly, and both my husband and I like the name Torin, but pronounce it differently. We live in Ireland, and although this name is often listed as Irish on baby name websites, etc., it is far from traditional and very uncommon.

How would you pronounce this name? (Particularly interested in responses from Ireland!)

I think it will be pronounced to sound like 'warren' - a short vowel sound for the 'o' (thank you to the poster who suggested this example, mine were much more confusing).

My husband thinks TORE-in, with a long vowel sound. I also like this pronunciation, but just think he might end up having to correct people all his life!
