2 mile walk - 5/9/26

The weather and my free time finally aligned, and I had a good morning to go for a trash walk. It has been about a month, but as I have mentioned before, I can’t consistently do these walks due to varying factors. In any case, I did about a 2-mile loop and picked up maybe 30-40lbs of trash. Coincidentally, I was also picking up trash the same day as a local volunteer group. They got really cool shirts, and all I got was pretty sweaty. Next year I will join them and get the cool shirt.
I also had an encounter with a random man that made me pause for a moment. He pulled up next to me and rolled his window down. He said, “My wife and I do the same thing where we live. It never really ends, does it?” I just looked at him and repeated it back, “It never really ends.” He drove off.

I went for an early trash walk today, starting around 7:30. I have a busy day ahead of me but I had been planning on going today anyway. The walk itself was pleasant as it’s a beautiful 60 degrees out. The trash was, well, trash. Nothing really interesting today other than what’s below.. In total, I’d estimate between 40-50 lbs of trash today.

I took another walk after work to clean up the trash on the road I commute on every day. Since the sun was setting already, I was only out for about an hour. I cleaned up about 25 lbs of trash.

Hello, thanks for clicking!

This is a space for all things related to trash walks. A trash walk is where you go for a walk and pick up trash as you go. It doesn’t need to be anything more intense than carrying a glove and a grocery bag with you on your walks. You will be surprised at how quickly you fill it and just how trash it out there.

Today I decided I would do a quick cleanup of the parking lot outside my office on my lunch break. I was pleasantly surprised that it was rather clean already. I only managed to pick up one grocery bag of garbage (~5lbs). There was nothing really of interest other than a silly LaBuBu sticker I found.
