Quick pitch: Jacob Laxion is sixteen, homeless, and has nothing to his name, until the world starts bleeding into his life. The blood flowing through his veins is old as the gods themselves, and there are things out there that can smell it. It is a story about family, and a girl who deserves the world but gets the weight of it instead.
