Hi! I am a British citizen and my partner and I are interested in whether it would be possible for her to move to the UK with me under a spouse visa. We have been in a relationship for 4 years, and lived together in the EU for the last 1.5 years. 2 Months ago, I moved back to the UK, and transferred to the UK branch of the same European company for which I was working. I was earning above the threshold when I was working in the EU, and now I still earn above the threshold in the UK, but my contract is fixed term until the end of August.
I am therefore wondering if this would be a problem for my proof of financial means to sponsor her visa application - since presumably by the time the application was processed, I would only have proof that I will earn above the threshold for a few more months or weeks (I also wonder is there any way I can prove my financial means just with payslips, or will I need an official document from my company, which of course would state that the contract is fixed-term).
We are also not married yet, so my second question is whether we would have to get married for this purpose? This wouldn't be a problem, but we would prefer not to if it is not required, and I have seen some posts on this subreddit which suggest it may not be.
