Hello, upcoming anniversary trip to SNP for the first time. A little bit overwhelming which hiking trails to choose. Google AI suggested this itinerary. We want to do Old Rag but we are newbies and don't think we're ready for that one yet. Any thoughts or edits you would recommend to fully appreciate the park?

Day 1: Central District (High Peaks and Waterfalls)

  • Morning: Hike Stony Man Trail (approx. 1.5 miles) for panoramic views.
  • Mid-Day/Afternoon: Hike Rose River Falls Loop (approx. 2.5-4 miles) to see waterfalls, often considered a favorite for its moderate challenge and scenic beauty.
  • Alternative/Extra: Dark Hollow Falls (1.6 miles, steep) is popular but very busy.
  • Evening: Relax at Big Meadows for sunset.

Day 2: Central/Northern District (Rock Scrambles and Views)

  • Morning: Bearfence Mountain Trail (short, fun rock scramble with 360-degree views).
  • Afternoon: Upper Hawksbill Trail (2.2 miles, highest point in the park).• • Scenic Drive: Utilize the north-central portion of Skyline Drive, stopping at overlooks.
