I live in a house with the main tenant. She is 52 and has lived there for 20 years I think. I moved in last January. My landlady/roommate is very picky about everything related to cleaning and the kitchen. She complains about everything: how I clean the kitchen, how I dry the dishes. Last time she gave me a 10 minutes speech about how I should polish our glasses after using them, washing them and dryijg them. She doesn’t like the way I wash things because apparently I’m wasting water. She doesn’t like the way I set up the washing machine for my clothes either.

She also complains that I make noise going up/down the stairs, or that I close the door to strong, or that I live sometimes stuff next to my door (there’s no space in our storage unit)

She also touches my stuff in my hallway. It’s a two floors house. She lives downstairs and I upstairs. The kitchen is downstairs. She has her own bathroom and I have my own bathroom. She goes into my bathroom when I’m not there and touches my stuff. She disconnects my toothbrush, moves my stuff and also she takes my bathroom rug (it’s anti-slip) from the bathtub (cause I leave it there) and puts it to the side.

Lately it has been really annoying. I have anxiety, but like really bad. Last time I basically had a panic attack at class because I forgot to flush my toilet that morning and I remembered, and the thought of her going into my bathroom, seeing the toilet and then shouting at me and giving me the biggest speech was too much.

I try to spend as much time outside as I can cause I don’t really like to be at home. Being there gives me anxiety cause I feel constantly watched. But going to cafes or something after work/school is not possible every day because it’s too expensive.

I can’t move out until the end of the year more or less. If anyone else has been in a situation like this before, I’d really appreciate some advice. I’m a foreigner in the country where I live and she is a native, which makes this even more complicated. Thank you.
