So Im here on Sycamore at a Home2Suites for a month and I pick up an air fryer when I travel, I do chops and chicken and stuff in it and grill steaks on other nights.
I had just gone to the store, 180$. Ribeyes, chicken and ribs prepped with rub, others marinated and my refrigerator quits.
I go down at 8 am and tell them and the manager isn't in yet. " As soon as she gets in... she will call you. I said my phone in the room doesnt work... oh... ok." Well do you want to take my number down? "Yeah.. as soon as she gets in she will call you"
So Im here not on pleasure... I have a job here, Im running a crew. I do a few meetings in the room on my laptop... its 9:45 now. I go downstairs and the manager is in the office, big shock.
I manage to wrangle her upstairs to see, and now you can start to smell the stuff, it probably went during the day the day before... she takes some pictures, I give her my list... she grabs a ribeye and she says:
"This doesnt feel too warm"
I said.. "Well you eat it then."
I asked if they could get me a new refrigerator or something. "Oh yeah. Sometime today". "Well I have some drinks.. it would be great if they were cold at least"... "Well you can bring them downstairs and we will put them in our refrigerator".
Oh yeah that sounds awesome. So I dont do that.
They come while Im gone, empty the fridge and throw the stuff away, I imagine, there are used plastic gloves on my counter. That was great. New New fridge. Threw my ice trays away and everything. Awesome.
So they tell me their insurance is going to get in touch with me. This is a week ago. I told her "There is zero chance your deductible is less than $180.00". She says "We don't keep petty cash for things like this" I said "That's great... because I dont want cash... i just want what got ruined... why dont you just call Food Lion or Walmart, have them deliver the stuff that got ruined... or Ill even go sit in the parking lot and they can bring it to me"
"Oh we can't do that"
"OK great, thanks"
So then I get a generic text asking how my stay is going. I tell them... they said they will give me a call. Two days later I text them back... how bout that call? "Oh we called your room no answer". I said "Yeah, my phone doesnt work"
I mean Im not shocked at this point. Im a 9 year running Diamond Member with probably 2000 nights stayed. There are zero cares here. This is a $4,000.00 stay.
This is what has become of Hilton at this point?
This happened over a week ago. Absolutely nothing. No one checking up on it. Radio silence.
