Is the rent I pay reasonable for my situation?
I (19M) and my younger brother (17M) both live with my uncle. Our rent is $400 a month each (I pay $600 since I make a little more and want my brother to have some money for himself) So $800 a month in total. Obviously, this isn't a lot. However, we're paying this while sharing a room (understandably my brother wants his own space, as do I) I've gone as far as I can ensuring we pay for all of our own things. I pay for our own wife, phone bill, groceries, necessities like toilet paper, toothpaste, floss, deodorant, laundry detergent, among other things. I pay for my own car and all of my own gas (I've never asked to borrow money for anything as I haven't needed to). The only thing my brother and I use is the shower, washing machine, and dryer. Most of the time my brother and I aren't even home. We usually get home an hour or two before going to bed, then leave in the morning. Again, $800 a month isn't a lot, but we're sharing a room, and there are several multiple two bedroom apartment units in my town under $1200 a month. This wouldn't be impossible for us to do and I'm considering moving out into our own place.
