Instamart rider threatened me with physical violence after I canceled an order.

I had a pretty disturbing experience with a Swiggy Instamart delivery today and wanted to share it here for awareness.

​I placed a Cash on Delivery order, but when it arrived, I realized an item was missing. I told the rider I wouldn't be accepting the order and wanted to cancel it.

​The rider immediately became extremely aggressive and started shouting. It escalated very quickly from him being loud to him directly threatening me with physical harm twice. He explicitly told me that if I were standing outside the gate right now, he would have "done something" to me (assaulted me).

​I reported this through the in-app chat support, emphasizing that I was being actively threatened, but the agent just gave me generic, automated apologies and closed the chat without any real escalation.

​I’ve already sent a formal email to their grievance desk because having a rider with this kind of temperament operating on the platform is a massive safety hazard. Has anyone else experienced this level of hostility? Does Swiggy actually take these safety reports seriously, or do they just ignore them until something happens?
