Hey everyone, I’m 17 and honestly, I’m struggling. This is my first-ever relationship, but it’s long-distance and it’s starting to mess with my head.
The main thing is that I’m just losing all my energy for it. We’ve been together for a bit, but we only ever send pictures. We haven’t had a single voice call or video chat. It feels like I’m just talking to a screen and it’s hard to stay connected when there’s no real interaction.
On top of that, she’s Muslim and I’m Roman Catholic. I’ve been thinking a lot about if that’s going to be a huge problem later on. We only started talking because our friends were dating each other, but they’ve already broken up, and now I’m wondering if I should do the same.
I’m too scared to ask a trusted adult about this, so I’m coming to you guys. Is it normal to feel this drained? Should I try to fix the communication or is the fact that I’m already thinking about breaking up a sign that it’s over?
Any advice would really help. Thanks.
