Ok so this is my current / potential setup. For those who want the list I have the....
Fender Switchboard, Mini Wah, Dreamscape, Whammy DT, Kotzen Flyrig V1, EVH 5150 OD, Synth 9, Eterna, Slo, Decimator G String, and Plethora X5. My amp is the Synergy 20ir Combo.
Currently I do not have an Expression pedal nor the MXR tap. And I have a few questions if anyone out there is willing to help.
I want to control my amp, plethora, and Whammy with the midi on the fender switchboard. The Switchboard has a midi out, the plethora an in and out, but my amp and the whammy only has a midi in. So if I bought something like the Kenton THRU-5 would that let me connect my whammy and amp both to the switchboard for control?
I want to control my Plethora global tap temp with the switchboard, but I read that it doesn't actually have a midi clock but a footswitch connected through TRS could potentially work as a tap tempo through the switchboard system. Does anyone know if this will actually work? I kind of figure I should get a pedal that actually says tap tempo on it, but also would any footswitch do? Because if any will do I might as well get a 2 banger, so i can have an extra button on the board.
If I connect my wah into the switchboard would it be able to be controlled through the expression pedal? TBH this question is more of a curiosity for potential other places to put the wah.
Is an expression pedal really worth it? I have my own mini volume pedal called the DOD and I have enjoyed that one, but TBH this would be my first expression pedal so idk if they really are worth the hype.
Lastly, Is there anything I need to know about expression pedals. TBH I love the look of the darkglass one, but idk if that really would work with this system or not, so i put my second favorite looking one on the board, but there is a fender specific one, albeit it's a bit big for my board but if that what i should go with, I can make it work.
