So I had a crown lengthening done and I’m around a week post op. Swelling has gone down a lot more than it was the first few days following the procedure but I notice I still have somewhat of a gummy smile. I still have sutures in and still a bit puffy so I’m not sure if this is what’s contributing. Is this part of the normal healing process following this surgery and will it eventually get better? I go back for a post op visit in another week. Thanks!

Hi everyone! Patient here. I got a crown lengthening done on top row of my teeth and the bottom row as well and I’m not sure if it’s just the swelling of my gums but it seems as if it’s only more noticeable on the bottom than the top. One tooth in particular on the top was tinier than the rest of the teeth and it still seems to be small. I was told complete healing takes about a few weeks I’m just not sure if results are supposed to be immediate. Thank you!
