My 8 y/o son is interested in playing catcher full time next season and I’ve narrowed it down to the R9 and the SSK Z5. He’s pretty big for his age, 4’11” and 120 lbs and has large hands. Just wondering if anyone has any pros or cons for either. I’m looking for quality gloves, but I don’t want to spend $300+ on a glove that will probably be too stiff for him to close or break in properly. Any info is appreciated!
