I (female in my early twenties) will be finishing university around mid next year, and honestly, one of the things I really want to do afterwards is reconnect with my country and roots. I grew up outside Tunisia from the age of 4, but I can still speak Tunisian dialect Arabic pretty well (I cannot speak or understand fus7a). I can also read Latinised Arabic (like “sa7a” etc), but my actual Arabic reading is pretty weak, probably at a child level lol. I also don’t speak French, which I know could be a problem there. But I am fluent in English.

I was wondering how realistic it would be for me to find a job in Tunisia with an IT background? I’m studying Computer and Information Sciences.

The pay, honestly, isn’t my biggest concern. I mainly want the experience, to improve my Arabic, reconnect with the culture, and hopefully live with my grandpa for a year or two while I’m still young enough to do something like this. I’ve also saved a decent amount of money, and my grandpa has offered to let me stay with him for free (he actually insists lol).

Do you think this is realistic, or would not knowing French make it very difficult to get hired? Are there companies that are mainly English/Tunisian speaking? Also, what websites do people in Tunisia usually use to apply for jobs, especially in IT?

About a month ago, I had a very deep filling done. My dentist warned me beforehand that the cavity was close to the nerve and that there was a chance I could eventually need a root canal, but he wanted to try a filling first and see how it goes.

After the filling, my bite felt high, and it hurt to bite down on food, so I went back 3 days later. He told me he doesn't feel like it's high, but he adjusted/shaved the filling down a bit anyway to see if it would make it more comfortable. I told him it still felt weird afterwards, but he was certain the bite wasn’t high and said the pain could just be the nerve healing, so he told me to give it time.

But ever since that adjustment, I started getting really intense toothaches that sometimes spread into headaches. I needed ibuprofen basically every day. When I told him, he prescribed antibiotics, which confused me because I wasn’t sure whether this sounded like an infection or just nerve irritation, but I took them anyway. He also told me to give it a month and keep taking ibuprofen for the pain.

Now it’s been about a month. The pain is no longer constant during the day, but at night it usually flares up badly, and I need ibuprofen for relief. The tooth is also very sensitive to cold in general.

I’m starting to panic a bit because I really, really do not want a root canal. 😞 Does this sound like irreversible pulpitis/root canal territory, or can deep fillings sometimes take this long to settle down?

Also, could the bite adjustment/shaving the filling have irritated the nerve further, or is that unlikely and just coincidental timing? I honestly feel like I somehow made things worse by going back for the adjustment. Would really appreciate opinions from dentists.
