how much money do you need to start an at-home bakery?

recently finished my masters degree and i'm looking into unique jobs i can do while i send applications for work in academia.

i've always wanted to be a baker/chef but was discouraged from doing so since i was child. i guess this stint in unemployment and difficulty finding jobs where i'm "supposed to" (i got a few offers, but turned them down for personal reasons) has opened up the opportunity to pursue that. i still want to be an academic btw. i just want to do something i know i won't dread.

so, how does one actually go about opening an at-home bakery? how much starting capital do i need? is this a good idea? i'm also living at home right now and i don't want to unnecessarily strain my parents.

any advice is welcome! please don't be mean lol.

questions regarding peking university's master of international relations programme (foreigner)

hey everyone! i just finished a master of laws at an african university and i also have a bachelor of laws degree. i hope to go to peking university to get a masters in international relations/international studies in about three years. i'm gonna work to make sure everything is in order (mandarin, work and research experience etc.) before then.

i'm curious if someone who went to peking university for international relations can tell me what it's like (bonus points if you were/are a postgrad student, a foreigner and/or black) . how's the campus life? course rigour? i've already looked through the module list and i'd like to know what were your favourites. how likely are you to land a job as a teaching assistant as a foreigner? my country has a bursary agreement with china but do you know of any others? how do the people in the area treat black people? social life (does it exist?)?

this isn't an exhaustive list, any info you have would be great!
