Model: MacBook Air 13" M3 (2024)
Problem:
When I open the lid, the screen turns on for a couple of seconds, then goes black. The MacBook itself still seems to be running. I tried shining a flashlight on the screen but can’t really see an image.
What I already tried:
- Opened the MacBook and replugged/cleaned the display flex cable
- Factory reset the MacBook
- Connected it to a second monitor and it works in mirror mode
But when I try to extend the display or open the lid normally, the built-in screen still does the same thing and goes black after a few seconds.
I’m trying to figure out if this is:
- a motherboard/logic board issue
- damaged LCD
- backlight problem
- display flex cable issue
- or something else
Has anyone experienced this before? Trying to know if it’s worth repairing or if the whole display assembly needs replacement.
