Numark NV + Serato DJ Pro - Stems not working at all, have tried many approaches. Any hardware fixes or workarounds?
Hey everyone, just got a Numark NV and I'm trying to get Stems working in Serato DJ Pro. I've hit a wall and can't find a solution, hoping someone here has dealt with this before.
What I've tried so far:
DJ Preferences route - The "Replace Pad Mode with Stems" option that should appear under Setup > DJ Preferences simply doesn't show up at all. From what I've read, this is because the original NV isn't on Serato's supported hardware list for that feature (only the NVII, Scratch, and NS6II are). So that's a dead end.
MIDI Mapping route - Tried going into Setup > MIDI to manually map Stems controls to the pads. The MIDI Devices list shows up completely empty even with the NV plugged in. Serato detects the controller (the MIDI tab only appears after plugging it in), but it doesn't list the NV as a remappable MIDI device, it seems to treat it as a native controller only, which blocks the remapping option entirely. I've heard others have run into the same issue with the NV specifically.
Where I'm at:
Right now my only option seems to be using the on-screen Stems buttons with a mouse, which isn't ideal. I've been wondering if there's any kind of hardware modification or workaround, maybe bringing it to a tech shop to see if anything could be adjusted but I honestly don't know if that's even a realistic option or where to start.
Has anyone managed to get Stems working on a Numark NV through any method? Any advice on the hardware side, or any other workarounds I haven't thought of? Would really appreciate the help!
