Hi, I’ve had severe itching for more than a month and I’m trying to figure out what it could be.
The itching is mainly on my thighs, lower abdomen, upper arms, and sometimes my back. It gets much worse in bed, with warmth, and after hot showers. In many areas there’s intense itching but no visible rash at all.
I also started getting some bumps/spots on the genital area and buttocks, and a few mild itchy bumps in other places.
I tried:
antihistamines
moisturizer
hydrocortisone butyrate cream
for about a week with almost no improvement.
No one else in my house has symptoms, and I don’t have burrows or itching between fingers.
Has anyone had something similar? Did it end up being fungal, eczema, scabies, allergy, or something else?

Hi everyone, I’m trying to see if anyone has experienced something similar because this has been driving me crazy for over a month.
Symptoms:
Severe itching mainly on:
thighs (from mid-leg to knees)
lower abdomen/bladder area
upper arms above the elbows
back (lighter itching there)
The itching gets MUCH worse in bed, with warmth/blankets, and after hot showers.
In many places there is intense itching but NO visible rash or bumps at all.
I do NOT have itching between fingers or on wrists/palms.
No obvious burrows/lines on the skin.
No one else in my house has symptoms.
I also developed:
bumps/spots on the penis and buttocks
some mild itchy bumps starting to appear in other places too
The bumps themselves are not very itchy compared to the rest of the body.
Things I tried:
antihistamine pills
body moisturizer
topical hydrocortisone butyrate 1 mg/g cream
avoiding hot water recently
I used the medications for about a week with almost no noticeable improvement.
Other details:
Hot water makes the itching worse immediately.
The itching is bad enough that it wakes me up from sleep.
No major new soaps, foods, or products before this started.
A doctor initially thought it might be allergy/skin irritation, but now I’m not sure anymore.
Has anyone had similar symptoms? Did it turn out to be fungal infection, scabies, eczema, something internal, or something else?
