Bit of question here about switch 2 as a ps5 pro and switch 1 owner
Hi people, I have been lurking here for a while but would like to get this off my chest real quick. I have a ps5 pro bought from Black Friday and my 8 years old switch, which I haven't played a lot over the years beside major first titles since the used cartridge always tends to bit a bit pricier than used disc, plus you don't really PLAY third parties on switch 1, and I don't intend on cracking either since I enjoy playing splatoon with friends online a lot even after high-school.
Right now I'm in a bit of difficult position, on one hand nintendo just announced a 50 dollar increase starting in this September, and with increased power of ns2, I do find myself having the knack for playing more 3rd parties in the future for portability reason, given that switch2 is still less expensive than SD oled right now; hence, I might find myself a little bummed if I don't get the 2 before the price hike. But on the another hand, if I used up the money to get a switch 2 bundle now, I won't have the extra to buy any new AAA games like Black Flags or 007 summer back home until at least this September and can only play old switch games I own and maybe one more switch 2 game that came with the bundle (I might still have the buck for Requiem dlc but who knows)
I felt like switch 2 would only get pricer and pricer from this point like ps5 pro, so wasn't sure what should be the right move. Any input would be greatly appreciated:)
Is anyone in the UBC HKU joint law program?
How was the program like, if you don't mind me asking? Doesn't matter if you're in HKU first, UBC later, or vice versa. Do you find having a Canadian law degree while also getting your HK degree helpful and opens up other opportunities? For the context, I am applying to UBC Allard JD as a UBC undergrad and have noticed that there is a joint law degree, which is great news for me since it's closer to my mom's home. As for the language aspect, I have no trouble with practicing either in Hong Kong or Canada since I speak four different languages: Spanish, English, Mandarin, and Cantonese (My dad is Colombian, and my Mom is from Canton city). I grew up in Canton city as well, so I can write and speak both Mandarin and Cantonese at a native level. I am mostly curious as to like what aspect of the joint program would be most appealing to you personally, and whether you liked your time at UBC more or at HKU more.
Much thanks:)
Comm 295 inquiries
Hi sauder people,
I am posting from a peculiar position. I will be enrolled in the international relations program next winter term, and I am hoping to pursue the stream in economics. One of my specialization courses, Econ 455, can take Comm 295 as a prereq over Econ 301; however, when I checked for Comm 295, the only prerequisites are Econ 101 and Econ 102. I received grades of 96 and 89 in these two courses, so algebra and graphing are no big deal. Nonetheless, because Math 100 and 101 were not explicitly required for my specialization and plus the high school course issues, I never took them. Furthermore, on the Sauder website, it was said that credit would be granted only to either Comm 295 or Econ 301 (a course with prerequisites for math 100 and 101). So now I'm wondering like, how much calculus would be involved in Comm 295, and whether or not I should pick Comm 295 to take Econ 455 at all (there are other courses with only Econ 101 and 102 prereq too, and I only need nine credits to satisfy the stream) Also if I may add, my plan after undergrad is law school with potential focus on being a M&A lawyer, which is why I decided to pursue the stream of economics instead of diplomacy and peace studies in IR. Any input would be greatly appreciated
Warm regards.
Question about YRH after undergrad
Hi people, I just got my YRH offer, and I have a question about the yearly renewal. According to the website I can renew my YRH contract every mid-February as long as I am still in a credit-based program. I am currently in my third year of undergrad, and I plan on being a KJD student afterward. Meaning that I will stay to pursue a JD at Allard Law right after my undergrad. In that case, I am wondering if it was allowed to renew my YR contract right after I graduated from undergrad, but with law school or grad school following right after? Much Thanks:)
Just got a YRH for ponderosa
I legit thought I won't be getting these until I graduate, last I checked I was sitting around 300 or smth lol
Hi, today I learn that faculty of arts has changed WRDS one fifty A to WRDS one fifty one, (which were "restricted to arts student") in september 2025, and I'm a little worried.
I am a transfer students who transferred to the faculty of arts starting september 2025. However, before that, in summer 2024, I had taken a ENGL one O one course, which was then transferred as WRDS one fifty (no mention of 150 A or B) in UBC. The questions I have right now are that on WRDS website, it said that 151 is restricted to student in arts, and 150 is restricted to student in non-arts, however, they were all equivalent to one another. Furthermore, on my BA academic evaluation, my writing requirement has already been marked as complete. I am confused about "restrict but equivalent" situation, and I was wondering if they would be able to revoke my completion on workday later. Do I need to go to Arts academic advising for this?
Okay for the context I am an Arts student, and the only requirement we have is 54 credits needed for promotion to third year, which I have indeed earned. The one thing I have noticed that being different from last year is that the class standing is now "class standing at the start of the period", which is still 2nd year. Does this mean we will get an updated separate class standing section later, or is this it? Do I need to let ISIT get involved? Does any one else have this too? All my final grades have been released and appear on my transcripts.
How come I only know this last minute 😭 Best Prof ever btw
How was everyone doing? Hope it worked in your favour:)
