Our flight from Chicago overfilled the plane by an extra 400 pounds of jet fuel. The captain announces that we are literally going to stay on the ground to burn off the extra fuel before we can take flight. Supposedly that's about 30 minutes. In case anyone is wondering, burning 400 lbs of jet fuel releases approximately 1,264 pounds of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. Good job United.
