AITA For Calling my Son Ungrateful?

Last weekend, I took my son to braid his hair, as he has been asking for a few months.

The braider I took him to I’ve also taken his sister to, and she did an ok job but it didn’t last too long. I don’t go to this woman (though I might go for mother day tomorrow) she’s doesn’t charge too much. The braider did my son’s hair in about an hour, and my son said he didn’t like it. Thst was after I even paid for it even though I said if he wanted to do it so badly bye would have to pay the $50 (my husband gave him and his brother $50 each for Easter so he could pay for the braids with that).I admit the braids wssnt the best work but it was satisfactory. I wS planning on taking him to my friends husband’s place to get his haircut, but he said he didn’t want him to mess it up (which I was ok with, he’s retired and has health issues, and he just waited until we went to the barber school later this past week, where we usually go for their haircuts). He seemed kind upset about the whole thing during the car ride home.

I told him that I don’t know why he is mad, as I had to drive 30 minutes from our house and back to get this done for him, when gas is literally $5 a gallon. I said he was being very ungrateful. It doesn’t matter to me that he said “thanks” for bringing him before his hair got done, just that he was being cold and quiet because he didn’t like the outcome. And I don’t like that. But he continued to be cold and short over this toward me.

AITA? He still wears a beanie rverywhere because he thinks it looks bad, but don’t take them out, Which negates the whole point of me paying for it…
