AIO to my family needing me for every financial issue and stepping away?
So my family has never been financially literate. I’m a (26 M) who hasn’t lived at home since I was 19, my family doesn’t help me with ANYTNING, bills, emotional state; nothing .My older brother is 31 and still lives at home rent free, is a nuisance to neighbors and just smokes his life away( important). Maybe this is harsh but I cut my family off for 6 months because it feels like every interaction is money related. Well two days ago my mom calls and says she’s gonna be homeless next month, and needs rather $3000 or to live with me for the immediate future… it’s always about money but it’s my mom… I just started working two jobs a few months ago and started savings a few grand a month finally but now all that’s going to my family . My mom refuses to ask my older brother for a dime because he’s “not as responsible as you” but I have my own bills and want to finish school this year. I feel like my family just keeps me from my goals and can’t rely on them for anything! But it’s my family at the end of the day, I can’t let the woman who raised me be homeless right? But my savings and emergency fund are being pulled underneath me…
