Emotional roller coaster
Is it only me or does Grey’s Anatomy emotionally destroy everyone who watches it? 😭
I stopped watching after Season 19 because honestly… I needed a break from the emotional roller coaster. A few days ago I started again and right now I’m on S20 Ep10 (“Burn It Down”) about the wildfire.
There’s this scene where a woman asks Dr. Shepherd to help find her son and his boyfriend who were camping during the fire. And after he writes down their names, she says something like, “There are other people looking for their loved ones too, please help them as well.”
I don’t know why but that absolutely broke me. I burst into tears instantly.
And honestly, this isn’t even the first time Grey’s has done this to me. There have been countless episodes and scenes over the years that completely wrecked me emotionally. Especially the whole McDreamy accident storyline and the moment Meredith finds out about Derek… I don’t think I’ll ever recover from that episode. The hospital shooting episodes too — absolute heartbreak and anxiety from start to finish.
Grey’s always does this thing where it’s not just the huge dramatic moments — it’s the humanity in the small lines, the fear, the love, the helplessness, and tiny acts of kindness that hit the hardest.
Please tell me I’m not the only one who gets emotionally attached like this 😭 Which Grey’s Anatomy scene completely destroyed you?
