BEWARE - SPARK MEDIA YOUTUBE VIDEO EDITOR
I did an interview for an editor position for a youtuber managed by a company called Spark Media. In the post saying they were hiring they were promising to pay hourly starting at $20 an hour no hour cap. When I got into the interview it was the youtuber and 2 managers. At one point I thought it was weird that they hadn't mentioned pay or anything so at the end I asked if it was infact an hourly position. And they got really scared, and before the youtuber could speak the manager cut in and said it was paid per project and that it would be paid based on the video (which if you don't know is just a really good excuse not to give you an answer so you don't question them). I told them their ad was wrong, they said they'd fix it and gave me a test edit. I personally thought I aced it but they told me I didn't get the job because I used premiere pro not cap cut (which I am also proficient in but apparently they will decline you from all their youtuber's jobs if you don't use cap cut?? As a professional??) Just a warning if you see a youtuber saying they need an editor and their with Spark Media just assume its not hourly.
