Had a first timer pass out the other day. Obviously, the coach stopped the class…apparently they aren’t allowed to restart it either (say, if the person was already recovered and taken care of). The person was fine after their uh…improvised nap. Just needed their legs up in the air and a cool towel. Their ego was bruised but otherwise no damage done.
Obviously not mad at them but it was a bummer to not get a full class (had like 15 minutes left).
Please take breaks! Especially as the weather gets warmer, and studios have different levels of good “climate control.” I know coaches are trained to motivate us with that “one rep more” mentality, but IMHO the first few classes are not for pushing yourself. It’s for getting to know the moves and seeing how your body does. Once you have a baseline THEN you can start slowly pushing yourself.
Obviously intellectually I knew passing out was an option but I guess I hadn’t really considered it before lol. So this is my PSA to people trying solidcore for the first time, lol.
